The Flywheel Exhibition

The Flywheel Exhibition was a travelling exhibition curated to demonstrate ValueLabs’s capabilities and the value of design to its clients. The exhibition was set up as a part of the company's annual client focussed event, INSPIRE 2019 hosted in Las Vegas, USA and London, UK.

In addition to showcasing the capabilities, the exhibition also served as a prequel to the main conference which showcased detailed case-studies and examples of the company's service offerings.

Transformation, when done right, turns a caterpillar into a butterfly.

The Digital Flywheel is our way of bringing structure to the complex digital landscape and building frictionless momentum for your business. With business strategy at the heart of the flywheel, we bring together various digital initiatives under User Experience, Data & Analytics, Automation, and Product Development, leading to high impact business transformation.

The Flywheel, when coupled with our OneCompany® model of engagement, helps our clients turn concepts to reality in quick time. This exhibition is designed to illustrate just that!

My Role:

My primary contribution was in setting up the exhibition at both the locations (Las Vegas & London). This opportunity allowed me to demonstrate my organisation and collaboration skills. The exhibition not only involved individually contributing but also required teamwork. It required collaboration with a team of 35+ designers and different departments such as marketing, admin and tech teams as well as collaboration and coordination with the vendors on-site. I also played a major role in planning and managing the logistics as well as sourcing materials for the set-up for the travelling exhibition on-site. The event met with great success and I received much appreciation for it from the company's top management.

Exhibition Layout

The exhibition revolved around ValueLabs's unique business framework, the Digital Flywheel (DFW) and its components explained using custom video animations and snippets. The exhibition had 5 major sections,

  • xPERIENCE - A memorable etch created by designing meaningful experiences integrating digital, physical and social touch-points.

  • Analytics - Leveraging enterprise data and machine learning to improve decision making and reduce human involvement

  • Automation - End to end process automation using custom scripts, RPA tools and cognitive bots

  • Product Development - Striving for zero defect leakage with a full range of services

  • Business Strategy - User Experience, Data & Analytics, Automation and Product Development joining forces to power business strategy

The exhibition setup was accompanied by an interactive zone and SME stations where the visitors could experience first-hand some of the solutions designed and created by ValueLabs.

The theme of the entire setup was to be futuristic, cutting edge and technology forward. Special considerations had to be taken while curation, to ensure that the content is fit for a travelling exhibition. This involved immense planning and meticulous efforts by the team to compile the content in an easy to understand video format.

The image below represents the layout created for the exhibition setup at Vegas. The visitors enter from the opening and then move around clockwise starting from the left and come back to the entrance at the end of the exhibition.

Setting up the Exhibition in Las Vegas, USA

Setting up the exhibitions on site was a Herculean task. The set-up involved many logistical & operational challenges which required thinking on the feet to find quick solutions and make improvisations. The setup was done at the venue in collaboration with the on-site production teams. The entire ValueLabs team that had travelled was all hands on deck to ensure the exhibition was setup in a short span of 36hrs.

The Digital Flywheel has Business Strategy at the core and leverages User Xperience, Analytics, Automation and Product Development to create sustainable business momentum - all by Design. We created a Hologram which represents the true essence of our Digital Flywheel as the welcoming installation for the exhibition. The four sides of the inverted hologram pyramid represent the four components of the Flywheel that come together to power the business strategy at the core.

Business Strategy - The first exhibit showcased an overview of ‘Business Strategy’ which is the core of the Flywheel.

xPerience - The way we interact with a product and service is etched by the experience that comes along with it. ‘Experience Design’ at ValueLabs comprises of 12 different disciplines which come together to enhance the customer experience, and in turn enriches the business.

Analytics - It showcases the variety of work done, like the hands free audit solution that can be deployed on smart glasses. It allows easy data capture & retrieval with simple voice & scan commands.

Automation - To scale the automation journeys of our clients we built a few IPs. One such example is of how it helps you take data from various unstructured sources like scanned PDFs and images and converts it into a structured format.

Product Development - Our expertise in this area spans over two decades. This is the work we did for one of our clients. This interactive display represents the journey of ValueLabs's oldest .

Flywheel in Motion - a final case study where all the components of the DFW worked in tandem to achieve business impact.

Setting up the Exhibition in London, UK

The set-up at the London venue required many improvisations and a change in layout to accommodate it in the space plan. The production team on-site created the structural setup and then the rest of the setup was done by the design team in within 9hrs. Managing the flow of the people and the audios of the content was a challenge due to the smaller linear space. A guided tour of the exhibition with 5-6 visitors was thus organised to mitigate this.

After the success of 'The Flywheel Exhibition' at Inspire 2019, the exhibition was converted into a permanent format at the experience centre in the ValueLabs head office at Hyderabad India. This allowed the employees, clients and prospects visiting the head-office to experience the and know more about the work that ValueLabs does.
